My second time snorkeling. This time it was in islands called Koh Nang Yuan & Koh Tao. It was a 90-minute boat ride from Koh Samui island. When we arrived there, the guide told us that we had 45 minutes to snorkel before lunch. So we quickly prepared our gear and went into the water. We went to the other side of the ocean that was not as crowded. The waters were green and sand white. It took a little getting used to to use the snorkeling mask and to breathe using it. The challenge for me was to escape the shallow corals and prevent any scrapes. It was exciting to see all the underwater creatures. The sea cucumbers, urchins, abalones, anemones, different kind of fishes. The visibility was good, and the waves were inviting to us, snorkelers.
After lunch we went to the other side of the ocean where there was lots of people, the coral there was much deeper so it was easier for us to maneuver our ways around. There were bigger fishes in this area. And we saw more varieties of fishes and corals.
The last snorkeling area was out in the ocean somehow. The boat anchored 2-3 km away from Koh Tao island and we basically jumped off the boat to snorkel. The waters were deeper and it was easier to swim around. I saw many different creatures, big and small. It was pretty to just stay underwater and look at those sights. It is amazing :) God’s creations and I am thankful to be able to experience it. I should get a PADI certificate soon. That will be an adventure.
